Here is a very easy keto appetizer recipe for your Super Bowl party.

PREP TIME 10 minutes

COOK TIME 20 minutes

TOTAL TIME 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 20 Small Mushrooms (white and brown)

  • 300 g (1 Cup) Minced Beef

  • 100 g, (0,5 Cup) Diced Bacon

  • 1/2 Cup (2 Stems), Diced Fresh Celery

  • 25g (1 small) Onion

  • 2 Garlic Cloves

  • 250g (1/3 Cup) Tomato Sauce

  • 115g (1/2 Cup) Heavy Cream

  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Oregano

  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Marjoram

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prepare all of your ingredients beforehand.

  2. Bolognese Sauce: You can either buy a prepared one (make sure it is sugar free and preferably made with olive oil) or you can make your own sauce from scratch.

    1. If you choose to make your own, start with your onion and garlic.

    2. Place them into a cooking pot sprinkled with olive oil and caramelize for few minutes.

    3. Once caramelized, add bacon and minced meat, mix and cook for 15 minutes.

    4. Add diced fresh celery, herbs, salt & pepper, and mix and cook for another 10 minutes.

    5. As of last add tomato sauce and heavy cream and fully combine.

    6. Cover with the lid and cook for approximately 40 minutes at a medium temperature.

  3. Mushrooms: Fully wash or clean your mushrooms.

    1. Take out all of the stems. You can add chopped mushroom stems into your mixture as this will still bake together in the oven.

    2. At the same time preheat your oven to 200C or 400F.

    3. Place your mushrooms cups either onto the casserole or a baking sheet.

    4. Stuff each mushroom with your bolognese sauce mixture and top up each of the mushrooms with grated cheese.

    5. Bake at 200C or 400F for approximately 20 minutes.

Useful Tips:

Avoid sogginess - Towel dry mushrooms after washing otherwise they might become soggy Stems - do not throw stems from mushrooms. Cut them up and add them into the filling. Reheat - do not microwave if you need reheating. It will get the mushrooms soggy. Better place them into the oven for a few minutes. Size - Try to pick the same size mushrooms to have them cooked all at the same time.
