What Can You Do About Keto Insomnia?

We think that this information might be useful for the folks who are starting their keto regime for the first time.

When starting keto diet, your body is clean, and you are not drowsy. And your body is no longer dealing with carb-caused inflammation.

That is a lot of additional energy saved by the body. Your body is definitely not used to that, and for the first couple of weeks your body does not know what to do with this excess energy. This may cause insomnia.


First of all, definitely avoid all kinds of caffeinated drinks after 12 noon.

Secondly, take 1000 mg of Ashwaghanda (half a teaspoon) regularly every evening, 2-3 hours before you go to bed. It will take a few days to start working.

Note: Ashwaghanda is an adoptogen. This means any excess amount will be discarded by the body if you take more than the recommended amount.

Thirdly, regularly walk, ride your bike or swim 2-3 hours before you go to bed (so that you don't have too much adrenaline in your system due to physical exercise) so that you burn off some of the excess energy.
