The "Bacon Wrapped Andouille Bomb": A French/German/British/Cajun fusion

Comfort Keto's "Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breast with Anduille Sausage" mastered by Chef Janine for your enjoyment features the star ingredient of Cajun-style dishes, including jambalaya and gumbo; the Anduille Sausage.

Despite its Cajun reputation, the andouille sausage actually originates from in France (border region between France and Germany, Alsace-Lotringen). The traditional French style andouille is a large pork sausage prepared with chopped onions mixed with a blend of Cajun seasonings, cased in the pig's large intestine, then poached, and cooled.

Most andouille sold in the in U.S. stores is Cajun-style, meaning instead of being poached, it is twice smoked.

Bacon-wrapped foods are typical for British cuisine. They are prepared by wrapping bacon around other ingredients such as seafood, sausages and other charcuterie, vegetables (like asparagus) and meats.

For our "Bacon wrapped Andouille Bomb," Chef Janine wraps a Cajun-style smoky andouille sausage (previously filled with with a bit of a kick of herbed butter/cheese) with a finely sliced chicken breast, and then wraps the combo with fine strips of bacon. The complete French/German/British/Cajun fusion bomb is then baked in our convection oven until the bacon turns into a deliciously crispy crust. The fusion bombn is served with a side vegetable medley.
