Culinary art throughout Europe, as elsewhere around the globe, is always great for new taste discoveries. We at Comfort Keto are continuing our World Culinary Tour in the week of October 11th.
Germany celebrates the Oktoberfest as the temperatures continue to drop, and Fall is in full swing. We at Comfort Keto are also celebrating the Fall season next week (week of October 11th) with a German classic Bratwurst, accompanied with a delicious keto Pretzel and a complimentary Michelob Ultra.
Most people in Wisconsin are familiar with this meal and know not to boil the bratwurst - boiling tends to take all the moisture and flavor out. Instead of boiling, we grill our Bratwurst.
Of course, we shall experience richness of the culinary heritage of France with our Sous-Vide Egg Bites (much better than the ones sold at Starbucks; we guarantee you!) and a mega size keto Cheese Cake Filled Cookie Cup (much better than the ones sold at Cheesecake Factory; we guarantee you!). Our egg bites are individually made with deliciously high-quality ingredients such as cage-free eggs, ripe veggies, cream cheese, Jack Cheese and ham. These gluten free, nourishing, high in protein delicacies are minimally processed using sous-vide method.
Next week, we will serve another delicacy from France:
Pork Loin with Cauli Mac-N-Cheese and Asparagus. Our totally ketogenic mac-n-cheese is another crowd-pleaser that we create by swapping traditional macaroni noodles for cauliflower.
MAC-N-CHEESE History: The exact origin of macaroni and cheese is unknown, though it most likely hails from Northern Europe, with the earliest known recorded recipe being scribbled down in 1769. A staple of American cuisine, the creamy combo made its way to the United States courtesy of Thomas Jefferson, who, while visiting France, became enamored of fashionable pasta dishes served there. He brought back noodle recipes and a pasta machine, since this foodstuff was unavailable in the Colonies. As president, he served macaroni and cheese at an 1802 state dinner.
Our next stop in Europe next week is Italy to experience its amazing culinary heritage. We will serve the ketogenic version of the Italian classic Eggplant Lasagna, a Comfort Keto favorite. Our totally ketogenic lasagna is a delicious, crowd-pleasing dinner dish that we create by swapping traditional lasagna noodles for thinly sliced slabs of hot plate grilled eggplant. It is a great gluten-free and low-carb alternative to classic lasagna.
While there are countless foodie destinations to consider, we decided to offer next week a memorable Greek specialty: The Greek Fish Cake Wrap Sandwich with remoulade dressing and creamy Mediterranean side salad.
Eating fish in Greece as part of the mercy meal (Makaria) is a symbol of Christ's resurrection. In this recipe, we used a delicious blend of Salmon and Halibut, instead of traditional Cod fish.
Last but not least, we will complete our menu for next week with a delicious and totally satiating Autumn Chicken Kale Salad from Massachusetts, USA. The key to this healthy salad is being well chilled for serving, which allows the kale to break down and the flavors to meld together. Kale's nutritional profile is just too great to ignore: it’s a rich source of vitamin K, antioxidants, iron, and fiber, to mention a few.
